Many governments believe an investment in collection technology is unnecessary, expensive, or complicated to implement. Others think collections should be left to the professional collection agencies for various reasons, one of which is that they have the technology suited for it. A number of governments feel that no one else does collections like they do, so they ought to have special software written by their government’s Information Technology department.
The world is bursting with accessible, affordable technology that allows governments to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of debt collection. GRCA advocates educating government about the most current technology and its uses in debt collection.
